Anthropologie: Beyond the A+
Hey sweet babies!
Life is looking up for me in more ways than one these days. I’m working harder than I ever have, doing more than I ever have, and earning more than I ever have. All that being said, my definition of “treating myself” has definitely changed. I can afford to do nicer things for myself, and splurge just a little bit more. It’s opened up a world I had only ever dreamed of just a short year ago. I’m not sharing all of this to boast, although I am very proud of myself for accomplishing something that may be so small in the grand scheme of things.
Enter stage left, Anthropologie introducing A+, their inclusively sized expansion line of over 100 pieces sized 16W-26W. It may not seem like a big deal: it’s just a dress, they’re just clothes, sure. But this is huge! 15 year old me is losing her mind! Back then, a stylish thick lil slice like me had very few options in the way of cute, affordable clothes that could try on in the store and take home with you the same day. Going from having to trek all the way to specialty stores that were A)hella expensive and/or B) not cute at all, to being able to walk into most stores and just buy off the rack (with minimal fuss) is monumental.
I’m happy to see that brands like Anthropologie are realizing that fat women have (lots of) cash to burn for clothing that makes us looking and feel like the fucking babes we are, and that the little bbs of 2019 are much better equipped than my cohorts and I.
Speaking of, I love this dress so much. So much, I may want to be buried in it! I got a size 16W. I’m 5’2 and 42D and it fits like a dream. I also love that it buttons all the way down, so you can opt to show a little thigh meat if you so choose ;) - or not!
Let me know some of your favorite existing (or emerging) size inclusive brands in the comments!
