Girlfriend's Guide to NYC Brunch: Temerario
I hope you had a long, restful weekend. Goodness knows we deserve it.
This week’s installment of Girlfriend’s Guide is a particularly fun one, even more so since I tried a brand new spot (brand new to me, that is)! If you know anything about the NYC brunching scene, you’ve probably realized that most of the spots with the best bottomless drink specials are Mexican restaurants - they know what’s up!
Enter Temerario, a quaint little hole in the wall on a corner in Chelsea. You can catch this flamboyant eatery between 11am and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. It boasts bright colors and a lively Spanish soundtrack, the perfect backdrop for a fun weekend brunch with friends. I really enjoyed the industrial lighting, the wall murals, and the bright colors. It kinda gave me a classier Nacho Libre vibe?
While we were enjoying the scenery, my friend and I deeply imbibed in especially strong (& unlimited) margaritas on the rocks until we couldn’t drink anymore; or until our hour and a half was up, whichever came first. I can’t remember!
I don’t mind admitting that I got a little drunk, but I absorbed some of all that tequila with an order of Enchiladas Suizas and a side order of rice - because, carbs! My friend got the Huevos con Mole and that also did not disappoint (I tried some of his too, lol). I especially enjoyed the mole and the rice was sooooooooo good!
Overall, I delighted in my first time to Temerario and would 100% go back again. I think next time I’ll have to try the steak tacos ;)
